Currently, the major automotive OEMs, on the one hand, require polimeric compounds which are mechanically performing, light and sustainable (hence meeting the circular economy principles); on the other hand, they are progressively abandoning the use of physical prototypes to validate molds and the related components through crash tests. In the context of the regional project PICSAR and in response to the automotive market evolution, Sirmax has developed a family of compounds which are sustainable and offer high performances for the automotive segment, Step Lab realized a mechanical characterization system able to perform tests with high deformation speed, and Uniteam virtually prototyped and realized a structural component through the composite laminates overmolding. The webinar of July 16th focused on the intermediate findings of the project, while the webinar which will be held on September 16th will present the final results.
